Meeting #27 Profiling Shark Bites & Shark Tagging Workshop

Thank you again to all of you who attended our meeting and for providing such an incredible audience for our final meeting of Trimester 1!

For the first half of our meeting, we had the opportunity to hear from Dr. Eric Clua, also known as the “Shark Profiler”. His talk on shark bites and profiling as risk management solutions was very insightful!

The tagging workshop provided an incredible experience by watching a live demonstration on shark tagging techniques by Dr. Nico Lubitz, Shana Sullivan, and Bridget Nolan.

To start, we heard about shark movements, different tag types, as well as hearing about some crazy fieldwork stories involving some big sharks! Then, we got to watch a live demonstration on how to tag sharks.
