Meeting #31 Bioturbation of Elasmobranch & Fish Maw Trade

To start off the night, we heard from one of our exec members, Amaya Berge, as she presented her research on using drones to examine patterns in foraging activity and habitat use of small-bodied elasmobranchs in St. Joseph Atoll, Seychelles.

We also got an amazing talk from Dr. Michael Grant and his work focusing primarily on fisheries sustainability and conservation, with an emphasis on Papua New Guinea’s small-scale fisheries. Currently, Dr. Grant is completing work in Kalimantan to investigate the downstream conservation impacts of international fish maw trade.

Huge thanks to both of the amazing presenters for their talks!
